The Scorpion Stone
Two young boys, Isaac and Sam, get caught up in the drama of the Indonesian confrontation in Malaya. The danger they face prompts them to swear an oath of loyalty to each other. It is an oath sworn on the Scorpion Stone, a piece of amber that once formed the hilt of a dagger.
The family moves to Germany. It is the height of the Cold War and tensions are running high. Their adventures begin a chain of events that lead them into the murky world of espionage. Its threat follows Isaac to Cambridge University, where he teams up with Sophie, a brilliant fellow student, in order to survive. The evil also follows Sam into the navy and threatens his career.
The final drama is played out on the remote island of Skellig – a deeply spiritual and mysterious place. The national security of the United Kingdom hangs in the balance. It is up to Sam, and the team gathered around the Scorpion Stone, to keep Britain safe.
